On January 29, Sauder School of Business’ Real Estate Division and the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) announced the renewal of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding.

The renewed agreement will support the AIC Program of Professional Studies, aimed at real estate valuation professionals who are studying towards the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute and Canadian Residential Appraiser designations.

The agreement which lasts until 2018 also includes the introduction of articulation agreements with leading Canadian post-secondary institutions and enhancement of programs such as the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition.

The partnership between the Sauder School of Business and the Appraisal Institute of Canada began in 1998.

“During my time as Senior Associate Dean and now Dean of the Sauder School of Business, I have been privileged to be part of the partnership between the Appraisal Institute of Canada and the Sauder School,” says Robert Helsley, Dean Sauder School of Business, Grosvenor Professor of Cities, Business Economics and Public Policy. “This unique, synergistic connection has grown into one of Canada’s most successful business/academic partnerships.”
