The Sauder School of Business is proud to welcome back BCom alumnus and Silicon Valley ad guru, Brian Wong to speak about the development of his entrepreneurial venture Kiip, a web mobile business at the intersection of gaming and advertising. Hear about how he raised over $15 million in venture capital to build his business, and what advice he has for budding entrepreneurs.
Brian Wong is something of a prodigy. Having started his BCom at Sauder, at just 14 years old, he became the school’s youngest student to graduate in 2009. To date he has created four companies, with his most recent venture being touted by industry experts as the future of mobile advertising.
Wong is the co-founder and CEO of Kiip (pronounced “keep”), a category-creating mobile rewards network that is redefining mobile advertising through an innovative platform that leverages “moments of achievement” in games and apps to simultaneously benefit users, developers and advertisers. He has been recognized with many awards for his accomplishments and leadership, including: the Top 20 Under 20 awards for all of Canada; Business Insider’s Top 25 Under 25 in Silicon Valley and 18 Most Important People in Mobile Advertising; Forbes’ 30 under 30; Mashable’s Top 5 Entrepreneurs to Watch; and the AdAge Creativity Top 50.
This event is open to the UBC community.
