The Coast Capital Savings Innovation Hub is asking for applications for its 2015 group of social ventures.

The CCS iHub is a 12-month accelerator program (January-December) for high potential social ventures in B.C., offering a dynamic space to accelerate growth by bringing together university resources, peer learning, and business networks. It is an opportunity to join a select group of entrepreneurs to grow a social venture to the next level – and there’s no cost to participate.

"We are looking for social ventures whose primary mission is to create positive social or environmental impact that is real and measurable, with a unique and innovative product, service or approach,” says Joanna Buczkowska-McCumber, director of social innovation at Sauder’s ISIS Research Centre. “Above all else we are seeking out leaders who are passionate and committed to growing their ventures and social impact."

The CCS iHub offers:

  • Collaborative office space downtown
  • A propellor workshop series tailored to the unique needs of social ventures
  • Peer learning and support
  • Business coaching and advisory services
  • Mentorship
  • A full-time student intern during the summer period
  • Opportunities for exposure and access to networks

The CCS iHub is accepting applications until November 5. For those interested in finding out more about the accelerator program and how to be part of it, there are a couple of events worth attending:

October 8th, 2014: Re-Vue at the Hycroft Mansion, celebrating the achievements of the five innovative social ventures supported by the CCS iHub in 2014.

October 15th, 2014: Info Session at the CCS Innovation Hub.
