Vancouver Summer Business Program
The Vancouver Summer Business Program was developed for groups of students from several partner universities. The program provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to learn about Canadian culture and business firsthand through social activities, classes, site visits and guest lectures from Canadian managers.
Program Content
The program includes two courses, each with 39 hours of class time, and is equivalent to six credits. Participating universities may request particular courses depending on the interest of their students. Classes are interactive and may include group work, class discussions, and guest lecturers. The following courses have been offered in the past and other course requests may be considered:
- International Business
- e-Business
- Negotiation
- International Marketing
Culture and Social Activities
Included in the program are a city tour, several group meals, and social activities. Optional weekends in Whistler, Vancouver Island and other sightseeing destinations will be planned, but are not included in the program fee.
Program Size
The minimum group size is 24. Multi-university programs may be available for universities unable to meet the minimum group size.
Duration and Dates
The program runs for 4 weeks during the summer. Dates are determined jointly by the participating university and the Sauder School of Business.
Participants
Participants are business students who have completed a minimum of two years university prior to joining the program. Students with less than two years university may be considered.
Partnerships
The Sauder School of Business currently receives students from Singapore Management University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, South China Agricultural University and Al Yamamah University.
Accommodation
Accommodation is located on the university campus providing easy access to classes, libraries, sport facilities and transportation.
Student Support
Groups are supported by Sauder School of Business staff.
Program Fee
The program fee includes:
- Tuition
- Course materials
- Intercultural communication workshops
- Accommodation
- Medical insurance
- Airport transfers
- Social activities
Students from participating universities should contact their International Office for details on the program fee.
Application
Application and selection is made through participating students’ home university. Participating universities should notify the Sauder School of Business of their interest in the program well in advance so that accommodation and instructors can be booked.
