MBA New York Marathon Team

On November 1, 2009, seven MBAs from the class of 2010 (Neil Thomson, Jamin Davies, Lexie Lanzet, Jennifer D’Aoust, Andy Renton, Jonathan Kaida, and Jo Pedersen) took to the streets of the Big Apple for the 40th running of the New York marathon, marking the first time a UBC team has entered the event. The students ran on behalf of Team Fox, the community fundraising arm of Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s Foundation.

Over 43,000 people participated on the day and many more spectators, together with more than 100 bands, lined the route to provide encouragement. All UBC runners successfully completed the 26.2 miles through the 5 boroughs of New York City, raising over $18,000 to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
