Chinese Executive Programs

Sauder School of Business offers a wide range of Chinese executive programs for senior government and enterprise officials of China. Programs range from one week to 12 months. Shorter programs can be offered with Chinese language interpretation. With the accession of China to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the challenge of doing business in a more competitive environment has arisen. To meet the demands posed by this new competitive and regulatory regime, Chinese managers have the opportunity to expand their repertoire of international business tools in the executive training program organized for them by the Sauder School of Business.

The School has a long and proud history of building relationships internationally, particularly within China. China Programs began at the School in 1980 with the visit of Mr. Rong Yiren, former Vice-President of China. Since that time, Sauder has developed strong teaching and research links with top Chinese universities, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong, and partnerships with leading business and government enterprises throughout China, including the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), the Baosteel Group and the Guangdong Provincial Government. In 1999, we signed a five-year agreement with Guangdong Provincial Government to provide executive training for their next generation of leaders.

Over the past 10 years, the Sauder School of Business has developed over 30 different courses under the banner of our Chinese Executive Training Programs. Approximately 500 senior Chinese government officials and business executives from key cities and regions of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Fujian and China Open Cities have taken parting our programs. We work with each group to identify their specific training needs, and custom-design programs for them.

We also incorporate site visits to Canadian companies and government departments as part of the program. Our ability to offer these programs with high quality Mandarin translation and interpretation make them accessible to larger numbers of senior Chinese government and enterprise officials.
