The BCIC Business Case Library is a collection of business cases about BC technology companies, highlighting their achievements, business challenges and best practices. The business cases cover an extensive range of topics including entrepreneurship, technology management, sustainability, business strategy, finance, marketing, information systems, and managerial decision making.
The BCIC Business Case Library is used in the province by students, entrepreneurs and industry to learn from their own province's business practices. These individuals can then apply the specific knowledge learned from the techniques and strategies identified in the business cases to directly impact their success.
Further, these business cases highlight a bright future for technology-based companies in the province and are being used internationally to showcase these companies and to promote BC as a lucrative place to do business.
The BCIC Business Case Library has been developed with expertise from seven universities in British Columbia: British Columbia Institute of Technology, Simon Fraser University, Thompson Rivers University, University of British Columbia, University of British Columbia Okanagan, University of Northern British Columbia, and University of Victoria.
The project was led by Professor Thomas Hellmann while at the Sauder School of Business. It was sponsored by the BCIC and benefitted from the support of the W. Maurice Young Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Research Centre.
