Ashoka Change Maker Challenge – Inspiring Student Social Innovation

Vancouver, BC, October 1, 2011– The Be A Changemaker Bootcamp, delivered by Ashoka Canada and Ashoka’s Youth Venture, hosted by University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) and powered by Starbucks, arrives in Vancouver in October. UBC and SFU student changemakers will gather for a daylong workshop to build and fund sustainable student-led ventures that they will subsequently launch, lead, and implement in their communities. Up to 10 teams will be eligible for up to $1,000 in seed funding each to launch their ventures, in addition to incubation support through Ashoka’s Canada and Ashoka’s Youth Venture.
