Career Profile
Ms. Jean Lee has many years of federal government experience in providing corporate services in the region. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and an Executive Master's in Electronic Commerce. Ms. Lee worked in the private sector and for the Ontario Workers' Compensation Board, before joining the federal government in the Pacific Region.
After holding a number of increasingly senior positions with Agriculture Canada in the accounting and financial areas, she joined Health Canada as their Regional Chief Finance and Administration Officer in 1997.
During her tenure with Health Canada, Ms. Lee also acted in various executive positions including the Special Advisor to the Regional Director General, Regional Director, Health Population and Promotion Branch and Director, Health Transfers Programs, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.
Ms. Lee joined the Canada Revenue Agency in 2005 and assumed the Regional Director of Information Technology position until her retirement in 2009. As the regional executive leader, Ms. Lee managed the IT Services team that supported 7,500 clients, 20,000 devices in 85 locations across this geographic area in the Province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. More notably, Ms. Lee had successfully led and stabilized the organization through difficult times including making positive changes to the culture from one that was technology-centric to one that is people and program oriented, focusing on employees, clients and program needs.
In May 2009, Ms. Lee was invited by the Sauder School of Business to be an Executive in Residence. Since joining the Sauder School, Ms. Lee has worked with faculty, staff and students and been involved with various activities including guest lecturing, mentoring students and other initiatives as they arose.
