Mr. Henderson is Managing Director of The Pacific Rim Group, a business advisory and investment organization with offices in Hong Kong and Vancouver. A resident of Hong Kong for twenty years, he relocated to British Columbia in late 2003.
Mr. Henderson has 34 years’ experience in creating and guiding successful business ventures, providing counselling to entrepreneurs and established enterprises, raising capital and corporate structuring. A Chartered Accountant, he has extensive "on the ground experience" doing business in Hong Kong, China and North America. He has held CEO and director roles in public and private companies in North America and Asia particularly in the areas of technology, telecommunications, retail and international trade.
Mr. Henderson is currently an Executive-in-Residence at the Sauder School of Business at UBC in Vancouver. He has previously served as a director of BC Ferries, one of the largest passenger ferry operations in the world, and Chairman of GTES, LLC, a world-wide paging sales and support organization. He has also been Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (the largest such organization outside of Canada) three times as well as Co-Chairman of the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. He is a Governor of the University of British Columbia Alumni Association Branch in Hong Kong and served as President in 1998.
In 1997, Mr. Henderson was recognized for his contributions to the community by being elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, the first time this award has been granted to a recipient living outside of Canada. He was also awarded the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in 1996.
