David C. Bentall worked for two decades with his family businesses, active in Real Estate and Construction. Remarkably, during that time, he was central in the succession process in his family's companies three times! Earlier in his career, Professor Bentall was a corporate VP at the Bentall Group, responsible for all real estate development activities in Canada. Subsequently, for 7 years, he was President and CEO of Dominion Construction. After leaving the family businesses, he became the founding chair of the Business Families Centre at UBC, and over the past decade he has been an advisor to nearly 50 family businesses through his own company, New Step Advisors. http://www.nxtstp.net/
