Management Information Systems Division faculty members are recognized for their research, and several recent rankings place our division among the top in the world, including:

For the years 2008-10, the MIS Division ranked first in the world in terms of the number of publications in the top four research journals in Information Systems (Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Information Systems Quarterly, and Information Systems Research) and second in terms of the number of publications in the top two research journals in Information Systems (Management Information Systems Quarterly, and Information Systems Research)

We are ranked second globally in the number of publications in the top two IS journals in the last three years, and in the top three IS journals in the last five years. The same site ranks one of our professors as the most prolific researcher in the IS discipline. Several other members of our division also place highly in these rankings.

We were ranked the most prolific institution for research on human computer interaction (HCI) in IS research from 1990-2008. Three members of our division were ranked in the top 16 researchers in this field, with one as the first.

We were ranked globally to have the highest average publication rate per faculty member of any institution in the top three journals during 2003-2007.
