Career Options On-Line (COOL), our online recruitment system, enables employers to quickly and easily post and manage job opportunities online, free of charge. COOL is used by thousands of local, national, and international organizations to connect with more than 3,000 current Sauder students and thousands of Sauder alumni.
To find out more about how to connect with our talented pool of students and alumni, you may also want to view the Step-by-Step Recruiting section of our website.
Step 1: Register for an employer account on COOL
-
Go to https://sauder-ubc-csm.symplicity.com/employers/
- Click “Register”
- Enter your company and contact Information in the registration form
- Fields marked with a red asterisk denote required information
Tip: Do not use a generic e-mail address (e.g. Hotmail) in the “E-mail” field — we need your business email address. If there are problems with your posting or account, this is our primary way of reaching out to assist you.
- Click “Submit”
Your registration will be processed for approval within 48 hours. Once your registration has been approved, you will receive a "Welcome" email with your username and password.
Once your account has been approved you can start posting jobs!
Step 2: Write a detailed job description
Step 3: Select a student group
- Review the Meet our Students section of the website to learn about the different student groups and determine which one(s) suits your hiring needs.
- Access the resume database: If you have very specific candidate criteria, you might want to consider requesting access to our resume database and compiling a resume book. This will enable you to compile a document (PDF) of candidates matching your specific criteria, including area of specialization, program, graduation date, job function, and previous undergraduate degree. Access to the resume database is granted upon request – please contact the Career Centre Assistant if you would like permission to use this database.
Step 4: Review the Recruiting Calendar to see the best times to recruit Sauder students and alumni.
Step 5: Post your job on COOL
Once you have identified your target student or alumni group and have drafted a job description, COOL makes it simple and easy for you to post your job(s).
- Go to https://sauder-ubc-csm.symplicity.com/employers/index.php
- Log in to your account.
Tip: If you have forgotten your password, you can select “Forgot Password” and your password will be e-mailed to you.

If you would like to manage all submissions through your own website, you can include instructions on how to apply for the position, typically by directing interested candidates to the career section of your corporate website. *Note that this option could prevent you from identifying applications driven solely from your job posting in our online recruiting system,. The Sauder Business Career Centre also loses visibility into who and how many students have applied for your position.
After submission, your job posting will be reviewed and approved within 2 business days. Upon approval, you will be sent an email confirming that the position has been posted on COOL.
