The UBC Sauder Philanthropy Program helps to build responsible, thoughtful, and creative business leaders with a deep understanding of the practice and impact of philanthropy. Based on the belief that philanthropic giving is learned, the student-driven program aims to educate UBC Sauder students about the process of philanthropy, and provide unique opportunities to apply skills they acquire in real organizations.
Philanthropy comes in varying forms, but is predominantly the act of creating positive impact using a combination of one’s own time, expertise, and, if possible, money.
The program exposes its Program Associates to local philanthropists and business leaders, and gives them first-hand experiences in philanthropy and opportunities to work with non-profit organizations and social enterprises.

"Participating in the UBC Sauder Philanthropy Program this year has opened my eyes to the seemingly endless number of ways that business leaders can bring social good into the corporate world. My exposure to passionate students at UBC Sauder and leading philanthropists in Vancouver have inspired me to think about how I can give back to my community throughout my career."
